TECHNYL® PA 6, PA 66 and PA 66/6
Technyl® is the benchmark for Polyamide 6.6 compounds.
It provides the answer to all industries’ key needs such as environmental-friendliness through weight reduction and metal substitution, safety through impact absorption or flammability protection, processing simplification, and sustainability, due to its durability, long-term resistance and fluid resilience.
The Technyl® range covers also Polyamide 6 polymers and Polyamide 6, 6.6 co-polymers.

PA6 Technyl® C Overview

PA66/6 Technyl® B Overview
Flame retardant Technyl® PA for electrical and electronic applications.
Polyamide’s intrinsic flammability properties, reaching the UL94 V-2 rating, make it the ideal material for electrical and electronic equipment. When combined with flame retardant additives, polyamide reaches the most demanding levels of fire and electric resistance, meeting UL94 V-0 and glow wire ignition temperatures of 960°C.
The Technyl® PA flame retardant portfolio includes unfilled, mineral filled and glass fibre filled grades with flammability rating UL94 V-2 and V-0 and glow wire ignition temperatures from 775°C up to 960°C. Rhodia uses halogen and red phosphorus free retardant, brominated retardant and red phosphorus retardant systems.
Flame retardant Technyl® Polyamides are used for production of
- Mini circuit breakers
- Residual current devices
- Timers
- Switches
- Sockets
- Industrial plugs
- Push buttons
- Household appliance parts
- Electrical connectors
- Relays
- Capacitors
High heat resistant Technyl® PA66
Rhodia developed a new generation of heat resistant Technyl® PA66 HP (Heat Performance). Glass filled grades are especially suitable for under-the food applications where long-term high thermal resistance is crucial. Long-term tests prove that Technyl® HP grades retain high level mechanical properties even after 1,000 hours at 200°C.
Technyl® PA66 glycol resistant grades
Technyl® A grades with high chemical resistance against glycols is a solution for automotive cooling and heating systems. Engine cooling parts are subject to considerable strain on a constant basis, due to a highly aggressive glycol environment and frequent variations in temperature and pressure.
Technyl® glycol resistant polyamides show an outstanding retention of properties after long-term ageing in automotive cooling liquids and are especially suitable for production of cooling and heating radiator systems, header tanks, thermostat components and inlet/outlet pipes.
Impact resistant Technyl® PA6 SI
There are many applications requiring extremely high impact resistance that cannot be met by standard polyamides. Therefore Rhodia developed a new generation of impact modified Technyl® PA6 SI (Super Impact).
Technyl® SI offers unequalled impact / stiffness balance and excellent impact resistance even at low temperatures. Unfilled grades are used for sporting goods, hand tools handles, protection equipments, impact resistant enclosures. Glass filled grades are suitable for production of power tool housing, appliance components, high performance sports equipment and machine components.
